Karaiskos Farm: Experiential activities for families (Weekends)
Gardening in the vegetable garden
- We get to know the farm`s vegetable garden. Children are guided through the farm, where they observe, smell, touch, and get to know the seasonal vegetables! They learn about the plant kingdom, its importance, and the seasonality of vegetables, while recognizing different plant species, their parts, and their functions. The children create their own small seasonal vegetable garden and, at the end, take home an individual pot with lettuce made from biodegradable materials, so they can apply what they learned at home and monitor its entire growth cycle!
The farm animals
- We get to know the farm animals. In this activity, children are guided through the farm, feed the animals, and get acquainted with them, learning about their utility in the production of milk, meat, and wool. We talk about the type of care required to produce products from animals and ensure their well-being.
Donkey rides
- Surrounded by nature, our little friends get to know the farm`s donkeys and enjoy a calm and safe ride with them around the perimeter of the farm.
Archery
- Children safely learn the basic techniques of the sport, practice their concentration and coordination, and have fun hitting their target in an exciting outdoor activity.
